Getting into Calisthenics

Updated: Oct 26, 2018

Calisthenics has a reputation for being really tough, so this is a quick guide to getting into calisthenic movements with a bit more ease... Saying that, it's still quite tough, but once you crack the first move, a domino effect starts.

So that's good.

This video (as silly as it is) shows you the basic hand plank, pressup and squat thrust, all good calisthenic exercises (body weight) in their own right, however, these are made a little tougher by doing them against a wall with only your hands on the ground.

Getting started

* Practice regular pressups, make sure you can do ten or comfortably

* Practice the hand plank, hold this for at least one minute

* Practice squat thrusts until you can do them at a good pace for 30 seconds or more

THEN

Follow the video :)

Or just go for it :) the choice is yours.

There are hazards with this , such as scraped knees... well, that's pretty much the only hazard.
