[Fitness] Testing times at the end of week 3

The whole reason for fitness testing is two-fold, firstly to validate the approaches and training methods adopted, and secondly, to fine tune the personal training experiences. Fitness testing enables us to see directly all the changes experienced so far, from those under the skin, to those performance enhancements too. The good news here, is that the results see are all pointing in the right direction., infact, if this were not recorded and stats made available, you'd maybe be deeply cynical about the claimed results... (read the full report here) So.. here's the fitness test, round 2! Enjoy...

Key points (improvements in the first 3 weeks)

  • Fat loss of 6kg (from 44% to 38%)

  • Muscular gain of 2kg

  • Weight loss of 4KG (from 80kg to 76kg)

  • Blood pressure reducing

  • Increased lung function by 5%

  • Timed row distance improved by 10% (over 2 mins)

  • Burpees improved from 15 to 20 (over 2 mins)

  • Slam test improved from 54kg to 146kg (over 2 mins)

  • Knee tucks from 24 to 26 (over 2 mins)

  • Pressups from 30 to 35 (over 2 mins)

The one mile run time was a bit slower by 40 seconds.

The fitness test took place at 2pm and it turned out that Gillian had not eaten since breakfast time, so her body was not willing to give up the energy over a sustained period of time, plus, the first half is uphill, and the fitness test was a surprise... The nature of the surprise aspect makes the results more relevant, as it catches the body in a normal state... Cruel to be kind i guess :)

Check out the nutrition blog for more on that and see how a strategic approach to nutrition can make a huge difference.
